IMPRESSIONS OF PAST EXHIBITIONS
WHAT'S IN THE EXHIBITION
The exhibition has already come a long way from its simple beginnings. The current version uses the ‘Triple’ model, i.e. a minimum of 3 panels = 3 different languages forms a column. The default languages are English, German, French and Russian, a local language can be added. There are currently 27 columns. These panels are very flexible. They can be hung or stand alone as columns or as wall screens. Each panel describes one or two interpreters accompanied by a photo (if available). There are also visuals showing the equipment used and the work environment. For two interpreters we have diaries given to us by relatives. There are some technical devices and decorative accessories. Different themes can be selected to match the context or occasion marked by the exhibition.
Most events have been organized by AIIC regions around the world and the association has adopted the exhibition to showcase the history of conference interpreting and some of its significant aspects.
